Ultimate Longevity Diet and Anti Aging Nutrition

Three Main Principles of an Anti Aging Diet

An anti-aging diet or longevity diet will be vegetarian, and best if vegan. It will include calorie restriction, the only proven way to slow the aging process. Finally, it will include the use of longevity foods, meaning foods that are full of antioxidants, minerals, and super nutrition without excess calories (SuperFoods) and that do not raise your insulin levels. Many people are not aware that insulin is very much involved in the process of aging. You can read about how to keep your insulin levels low several places on this website. To begin, start HERE. You may also read about hybridized foods to avoid because they raise your insulin levels.

Why Animal Products And Longevity Don't Go Together

One cannot eat animal products today as the main staple of their diet and expect to have long term, optimal health or to be living in a sustainable way. Yes, many centarians have eaten meat, but if you read the articles about them or talk t o them, meat is NOT the staple of their diet throughout their lives; itcentarian-100-year-old-ELDERLY-man is more common to find fish in their diets than meat, and not in large quantities either. There is also the fact that many centarians are from places like South America, Cuba or Japan in areas where pollution may be less and most often where there are less affluent lifestyles with less overall food consumption, another key element of longevity.

Thus there is no argument or evidence among centarians for meat being a life sustaining food or an important element of a longevity diet, nor does length of life equate to quality of life either, another key component to health. One may live to be well into their 90's, but still need living assistance and be seriously ill, which to most does not equate to health or a life of high quality.

Meat and dairy are a concentrated source of nutrients, thus it is very hard to fit them into a calorie restriction program for longevity and still get the other nutrients you need. Flesh does not have minerals or phytonutrients like a low calorie superfood such as spirulina does. Spirulina is also the best source of protein on the planet, but with no calories, making it, rather than flesh, a perfect logevity food.

Dairy is Nature's most perfect food for a baby calf, who has baby cowfour stomachs, will double its weight in 47 days, and is destined to weigh 300 pounds within a year! It is not a longevity food for humans, even if reduced calorie, because it is full of toxicity just like flesh. The amount of chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticide residues in the U.S. diet supplied by meat: 55%, by dairy products: 23%, by vegetables: 6%, by fruits: 4%, by grains: 1%. Percentage of U.S. mother's milk containing significant levels of DDT: 99%.

The Fountain of Youth fountain of youth

The raw diet , also known as living foods diet is THE MOST ENJOYABLE AND SENSIBLE way to get undernutrtion without malnutrtion, to get superfoods in our diet everyday, and to be vegan. Thus the raw vegan diet has all the principles of a longevity diet. You will not find a better lifestyle out there for anti aging. The raw, living foods lifestyle is truly the lost fountain of youth, which Alissa Cohen beautifully describes:

I felt better than I had since my teenage years. My energy shot through the roof, and I began to look younger and younger. I had found the fountain of youth. It wasn't a magic pill, it wasn't some fad diet, it wasn't some mysterious potion I had to drink, it was much simpler than that. The fountain of youth was found in the most delicious, natural foods this planet has to offer &the fountain of youth is raw and living foods (qtd. in Cohen 27).

demi moore ashton kutcher There are thousands of testimonials where people claim the same experience, like the actress Demi Moore who is married to someone half her age and she almost looks like she could be half her age, and this is my own experience as well, best stated by the fact that at 27 years old I was working as a 16 year old in T.V. and film. I am 31 now and people don't think I am older than 21. The scientific basis for this is best described by Gabriel Cousens, M.D. in his book Spiritual Nutrition:

Aging, Methyl Groups, and Cooked Food

All aging and mental and physical degeneration, including cancer, are marked by a loss of methyl groups. Expression of oncogenes (cancer-causing genes) and anti-cancer causing genes are associated with the loss of methyl groups at the cell level. The average loss is 1,800 DNA methyl groups per cell per day, limiting lifespan to 65-70 years. If the loss could be cut to 1,200 methyl groups per cell per day, lifespan could increase to 95 years because DNA would function better. When we cook our food we destroy our proteases (proteolytic enzymes) and this creates a need for more hydrochloric acid (HCL) to be used for digestion. The organic betaine hydrochloric acid (trimethylglycine) is a primary donor of methyl groups.
Therefore, cooking foods indirectly results in an accelerated loss of methyl groups because less HCL is available to donate methyl groups because it is being used in the digestive process (qtd. in Cousens 291-2).

One seems to completely stop aging on this lifestyle, providing that a person doesn't have a lot of stress and follows a system for relaxation, like yoga, which helps balance the huge new resources of energy gained from lifefoods. Relaxation techniques and lifefood nutrition allow our DNA to function at maximum potential, as we aren't using as many methyl groups, and the aging process dramatically changes and slows down.

In addition to the powerful youthing effects, people also get extremely excited about what a freedom and liberation the lifestyle is, making it truly not a diet at all. One no longer has to think about food or agonize over whether the right foods are being consumed, because pretty much whatever is consumed is packed with perfect balance straight from nature. Bodybuilder Stephen Arlin gives another reason why living foods are not considered a "diet ":

Some people consider the Raw Food Diet the next step past a vegetarian or vegan diet , but it really transcends all diets. It is simply the natural way to nourish your body. A raw foodist is not something one becomes; a raw foodist is something that all living creatures on earth are. We are designed to eat raw foods. Food in its raw, natural state cannot be nutritionally improved upon (qtd. in Arlin 63).
